Danesha West, B.S

Founder & Housing Program Coordinator

Danesha West is the Founder and Housing Program Coordinator of Grace Place Maternity Home, where she leads housing strategy, advocacy, and resource coordination to support expectant and new mothers in securing stable, long-term housing and essential services. With over a decade of experience in real estate, legal documentation, and client advocacy, Danesha brings a rare blend of systems knowledge, compassion, and results-driven leadership to the organization’s mission. A proud Chicago native, Danesha holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tennessee State University, is an ABA-approved paralegal, a commissioned notary, and has been a licensed Illinois real estate professional for over 10 years. She is also the Founder and Managing Broker of D. West & Associates Real Estate Group, where she is known for her expertise in valuation, asset analysis, and navigating complex housing transactions with precision and integrity. Before launching her brokerage, Danesha built a strong foundation in both government and nonprofit-adjacent service roles, including work with the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Circuit Court of Cook County, and organizations serving youth and families. Her earlier career includes experience as a youth care worker, residential supervisor, and family advocate—roles that required crisis intervention, program coordination, documentation, and direct support to vulnerable populations. This background closely aligns with Grace Place’s mission and informs her practical, people-centered approach to leadership. Throughout her career, Danesha has prepared hundreds of valuation and research reports, analyzed complex financial and property data, and supported families and individuals through high-stakes transitions. At Grace Place, she applies this experience to build housing pathways, strengthen partnerships, and advocate for sustained support systems that promote maternal stability and family well-being. Driven by her commitment to service, community impact, and her role as a mother, Danesha founded Grace Place Maternity Home to help ensure that no woman has to navigate pregnancy or early motherhood without guidance, dignity, and support.
